Bridge-It Accreditation 2007.
It was a pleasure to read this accreditation form. This
small organisation is making a real difference in peoples lives. They are committed to helping individuals and removing any
barriers to access to learning or employment. They provide many examples making their services accessible, providing reasonable
adjustment, interpreting and providing information in different formats. They are sensitive to different needs of disability,
different faiths, women and minority communities.
I suggest that JCP consider using the organisation to train or
advise other less able, often larger organisations about how to make equality of opportunity integral to their day to day
work and genuinly change peoples lives.
For the organisation I would like them to consider developing a formal
service agreement with subcontractors, to include regular review and monitoring meetings.
Internally, Bridge-It
train their staff, and it is clear that equality is permanently at the forefront of the minds of all employees. I can only
recommend that Jobcentre Plus help Bridge-It continue in the way they have been doing.

Bridge Accreditation 2006
Bridge-It
have provided an excellent accreditation; Their explanation of how they ensure that their service is available to all, regardless
of background is nothing short of superb.
They demonstrate that they fully understand the need to treat people
as individuals, and the vital importance of recognising when an individual's needs may form a barrier to them accessing
Bridge-it's Services.
They have considered many possible issues which may become barriers, and have fashioned
sensitive and creative solutions to each situation that may arise. I was particularly impressed by the way they included lack
of confidence as a reason why people may not be able to travel independently, and the ways they endeavoured to help different
people overcome this.
